Our desire is to see CCLW’s message and mission ring out in fresh ways, especially as our community continues to grow. To that end, the Resound capital campaign will simultaneously address needs and embrace opportunities. The funds will be used for two primary purposes:
 

1) To bolster our music program

2) To renew our campus

CAMPUS EXTERIORS

Need: More durable siding on the church building and a new roof on the Life Center/Dogwood building across the street.
 

Opportunity: To people who have lived in this community for a long time, the church is a landmark. But for the many newcomers to Lake Wylie, our building is somewhat camouflaged. We will replace the aging wood planks with white Hardie board concrete siding. We will also paint the exterior of the Life Center/Dogwood building white to maintain the appearance of a cohesive campus. A bright, classic white church will be hard to miss for the thousands of cars that drive by each day. It will also signal to the community that God is moving in fresh ways at CCLW!

CAMPUS INTERIORS

Need: As our church grows, the Gathering Space needs to be optimized for traffic flow on Sundays. We need better lighting, a highly visible Welcome Center, and an enlarged kitchen to support the increasing number of church events we host. The stairs need to be made more visible, too. Many visitors have commented that they were unaware we even had an upstairs. We also need to rearrange the Gathering Space to better facilitate church activities like small groups and youth meetings. Additionally, the bathrooms need updating both for aesthetic reasons and to bring them up to code. 

Opportunity: Our church is hosting lots of outside organizations and events, including Lake Wylie Athletics, Boy Scouts, Community Bible Study, graduations, weddings, funerals, and local elections. Currently, the Gathering Space is poorly lit and fairly dated. On Sunday mornings, our people imbue the Gathering Space with warmth, but outside of that time the space is not especially inviting for guests. We want the space itself to be bright, warm, and inviting so that its appearance will better reflect our church’s welcoming personality.

Need: The orchestra requires supplemental funding for the next two years, and the stage needs to be enlarged and resurfaced to better accommodate our musicians and create safer risers for the choir. The thirty-year-old upholstery is overdue for replacement, too.
 

Opportunity: Our music program is one of CCLW’s most attractive features, and our beautiful sanctuary draws people into a meaningful worship experience. While we want to preserve the classic feel of our sanctuary, the burgundy carpet and upholstery is noticeably dated.

With updated fabrics, an enlarged stage, and a well-funded orchestra, CCLW’s uplifting message will continue to resound for years to come!
