I have been to many types of counselors over my lifetime: pharmacy, psychologists, narrative counseling, a counselor who fell asleep while I was talking with her and my ministers. None of these people that I paid helped me as much as my Stephen Minister has.
The work that a Stephen Minister does is unconditional and godly love. They're not looking for any money. They are only praying individually and also as a group to make someone well.
I have to say after a 25 year marriage, post-traumatic stress syndrome created a very confused mind. My mind was so confused that I cried every single day, but I knew that God was watching over me through the tears. I could feel the angels around me leading me into a direction that would be satisfactory to God and prove as a witness to others.
After going to the Stephen Minister for well over a year, I can safely say that I am starting to feel the joy of life. I am starting to slow down, not to be anxious, and not to inflict my anxiousness on others."
